Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Scheduler

  • Create and maintain the game schedule for all OYHA teams. 
  • Schedule tournaments for all OYHA teams
  • Maintain the tournament budget
  • Work with managers, coaches, and rink schedule to reschedule games as necessary. 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational abilities

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive membership information.

  • Must be objective and detail oriented.

  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Efficient planner with a commitment to follow-through on tasks.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Passionate about the success of the association and youth hockey.

  • Successfully pass a background screen and SafeSport Training

Much of this role is completed July - November, with maintenance of the schedule happening after that time frame. 

Communications Director

  • Develops and oversees the club social media and communication plans

  • Creates and distributes club communications

  • Writes and distributes a monthly newsletter

  • Oversee the annual survey and communication of results

  • Oversee the club website

 

Qualifications

  • Experience managing social media and written communications

  • Experienced copywriter

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive membership information.

  • Must be objective and detail oriented.

  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Efficient planner with a commitment to follow-through on tasks.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Passionate about the success of the association and youth hockey.

  • Successfully pass a background screen and SafeSport Training

Off Ice Director

  • Drives recruitment efforts through a variety of activities

    • Try Hockey for Free Events

    • School Outings

    • Promotion events

    • Advertising in various mediums (social media, Park and Rec guides, etc)

  • Oversees team Managers

  • Manages new jersey and replacement jersey and sock orders

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Passionate about the success of the association and youth hockey.

Fundraising and Special Events Director

  • Drives fundraising and special events through various activities:

    • Annual Social

    • Special Events like Puck Challenge, Food Trucks, Flow Contest, Fall In A Box, and other creative ideas

  • Advertising in various mediums (social media, emails, etc).

Lead Manager

  • Work with coaches to designate a team manager or managers for each team

  • Maintain the Manager tab of the Ozaukee website

  • Update and distribute Manager Handbook and Website Instruction book

  • Schedule and lead Manager Meeting/Training at the start of the season

  • Maintain Ozaukee Managers email/google group

  • Facilitate a way to trade ice through email/spreadsheet/platform of your choice

  • Communicate changes and reminders to team managers throughout the season

  • Work with and train new managers as needed

  • Be a resource for team managers throughout the season
