Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Registrar

  • Create and maintain an active membership list within USA Hockey's online Registry.

  • Create and manage team rosters within USA Hockey's online Registry; including the management of compulsory documentation for participants, coaches and volunteers.

  • Ensure that rosters meet Affiliate, District and USA Hockey registration and composition requirements.

  • Ensure that all members and the association adhere to all requirements of the Affiliate, District and USA Hockey.

  • Depending on your association, your duties may include record keeping, date of birth & citizenship verification, player commitment forms, creating & updating rosters, data collection, monitoring SafeSport training, coaching education program (CEP) training, and screening.

  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with association leadership and members.

  • Complete and submit documents and reports as required or requested.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable navigating spreadsheets and mastering the portal-based USA Hockey Registry

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive membership information.

  • Must be objective and detail oriented.

  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Efficient planner with a commitment to follow-through on tasks.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Passionate about the success of the association and youth hockey.

  • Successfully pass a background screen and SafeSport Training

Off Ice Director

  • Drives recruitment efforts through a variety of activities

    • Try Hockey for Free Events

    • School Outings

    • Promotion events

    • Advertising in various mediums (social media, Park and Rec guides, etc)

  • Oversees team Managers

  • Manages new jersey and replacement jersey and sock orders

 

Qualifications

  • Must be objective and detail oriented.

  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Efficient planner with a commitment to follow-through on tasks.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Passionate about the success of the association and youth hockey.

  • Successfully pass a background screen and SafeSport Training

 

Communications Director

  • Develops and oversees the club social media and communication plans

  • Creates and distributes club communications

  • Writes and distributes a monthly newsletter

  • Oversee the annual survey and communication of results

  • Oversee the club website

 

Qualifications

  • Experience managing social media and written communications

  • Experienced copywriter

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive membership information.

  • Must be objective and detail oriented.

  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Efficient planner with a commitment to follow-through on tasks.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Passionate about the success of the association and youth hockey.

  • Successfully pass a background screen and SafeSport Training

Equipment Manager

  • Empties the donation bins at a minimum of monthly

  • Keeps the equipment locker organized

  • Makes recommendations on equipment purchases

  • Organizes and runs the annual equipment swap

  • Helps provide gear for Try Hockey for Free events

Our preference is for adult helpers - players are welcome but must be there to help.
